She is known in the Catholic Church as St Mary of the Cross

•  Mary was the eldest of 8 children
•  
•  She is one of Saint Marys School saints

 She was born in 15 January 1842  in Newtown, Melbourne, New South Wales 

 She died from a stroke on 8 August 1909

 She is the first Australian to be recognised by the Catholic Church as a saint.

 As a nun, she founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart
